Estudis Estudios Studies
Eina Design courses have a basically professional orientation. The aim of the training is to provide design process professionals who undertake creation and management tasks with the creative, technical and cultural skills that they need.
The GSD syllabus contains five training areas, which train the designer in their specific fields:
Expressive means: subjects aimed primarily at students mastering language, form, composition, drawing, colour, volume, textures, etc.
Representation techniques: subjects aimed primarily at students mastering the techniques and conventions with which to develop design projects and display the results of this process, such as descriptive geometry, technical drawing, originals, computer drawing, mock-ups and prototypes, etc.
Technology: subjects that ensure knowledge and mastery of the production materials and processes characteristic of each design itinerary. This knowledge is included in the design process and makes it possible to monitor the creation process, construction, manufacturing, printing, etc.
Humanities and Social Sciences: subjects that provide the student with the historical and theoretical knowledge and methods specific to social sciences, as well as how to analyse and critique the work and their contexts of production and reception. These subjects train the designer to know their own work and the effect that it has or the background and current contexts of design culture and how to reflect this.
Business area: subjects that deal specifically with aspects related to professional and business culture and that provide information about the medium in which the design activities are to be carried out. The aim of these subjects is to facilitate the professionalisation process of the student and provide them with an understanding of how the supply and demand of design services works.
Projects: subjects aimed at training the student in the specific practice of projects as a fundamental part of the design process, which integrates a knowledge of and skills in all of the above areas.
The Eina Art Studies program lasts three years and students are awarded a diploma which is unique to the school. The program can be tailored to the different needs of the students, as they can register for free elective subjects, specific workshops and summer courses.
